As a continue of a cooperation between STUBA and Cairo University our professors Oleksii Yehorchenkov and Nataliia Yehorchenkova visited the Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning of the Cairo University under the Erasmus International Credit Mobility program for teaching.

The Cairo University is one of the biggest and top-ranked universities in Africa with more than 250 000 students.

During the visit our colleagues held a workshop on topic “Synthetic Data in Decision Making. What is this & how can we use them?”. Under the workshop professors Oleksii Yehorchenkov and Nataliia Yehorchenkova shared their expertise and research insights with both faculty members and students. The focus of their teaching was centre around AI advancements and the utilization of synthetic data in spatial planning.

On the workshop was presented Professor Tarek Wafik, the ex-minister of housing, Prof Abbas Elzafarany, previous Dean of the Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning, Prof Abdulmohsen Barada, one of the pioneers and founder of the faculty and other faculty members and students of the faculty.

We believe that such collaboration highlighted the significance of cross-cultural academic exchanges in shaping the future of technology in urban development and ICT areas.
