Participant in more than 40 national and more than 35 international research projects among them in 3 Horizon 2020 projects dealing with European spatial planning, urban development and regeneration and environmental planning He worked as a project or team leader on more than 30 national and 20 international projects. Co-author of spatial planning documentation, strategic development documents at the national, regional, and local level, methodologies and analytical documents of spatial development, expertise, assessments and other works for social practice. He has been a member of national and international scientific councils, scientific committees of the German Academy for Territorial Development, a member of the advisory councils of the Ministries in the Slovak Republic and abroad. Published in books and international scientific journals (author or co-author of 41 books, more than 100 published articles, more than 100 articles presented at international scientific events. He is considered one of the leading academics in Central and Eastern Europe in the field of spatial planning. as the Scientist of the Year of the Slovak Republic, the prestigious Danubius Award 2017 for research, member of the teams of projects awarded by the EU, cited as examples of UNO best practice, leader of teams awarded as the EU Center of Excellence of the EU.
