At the beginning of June, as part of the Erasmus ICM program, an internship took place at the Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning at Cairo University in Egypt, represented by doc. Vladimír Ondrejička and Dr. Silvia Ondrejičková, which included, in addition to bilateral negotiations with the faculty management, the exchange of know-how, especially in the field of energy transformation. As part of an extensive presentation and subsequent live discussion, the concept of PED – Positive Energy Districts and its implementation within the Horizon 2020 MAKING CITY project, where the Institute of Management of STU is a project partner, was presented.
There was also an exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of science and research, improving the quality of publication activity and its impacts, as well as in the field of managing research support processes at individual workplaces.
This visit is part of a whole series of exchange stays and internships that are also planned in the coming years.
We are currently hosting two colleagues from Cairo University at our workplace, prof. Khalid El Adli, former governor of Giza province and vice president of ISOCARP and prof. Abbas El Zaafarany, who is the former dean of the faculty, and we greatly appreciate their visit.
In the coming period, the workplace will host students and PhD students from Cairo University, with whom we are preparing a series of events and workshops.
