Ing. Vilém Honysz is a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Management, Comenius University Bratislava, specializing in spatial planning. He earned his engineering degree (Ing.) from the Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava, where he focused on the relationship between the urban environment and its ecological functions. His research primarily centers on urban biodiversity and the impact of commercial operations on the sustainable development of settlements.
His professional expertise encompasses environmental management, spatial planning, sustainable mobility, and public space design. He actively bridges theoretical knowledge with practical application, having worked in a municipal spatial planning studio and as a spatial planning data analyst for the public administration; he is also involved in the implementation of a cross-border project.
During his time at STU, he served as an elected representative on the Study Programme Council for the field of spatial planning. As a member of the Erasmus Student Network leadership, he actively supported international student mobility, while also completing studies at leading German universities specializing in spatial planning—TU Dortmund and RWTH Aachen. His approach to spatial planning is defined by a commitment to preserving the spatial identity of cities while simultaneously enhancing their environmental resilience and social quality.
