Martina Le Gall Maláková has been working as a doctoral researcher at the Department of Environmental Management and Spatial Planning, Faculty of Management, Comenius University, since 2025.
She possesses extensive international experience in the formulation and implementation of national and international innovation policies. Throughout her career, she has supported the innovation ecosystem by facilitating the transfer of knowledge from research, development, and innovation into practice, thereby fostering Slovak talent and innovators. She is a co-founder of the Industrial Innovation Cluster (IIC), which supports collaborative international projects involving research across academia, industry, policymakers, and the public. In 2021, the IIC, in partnership with MIRRI, established Gaia-X Hub Slovakia as part of the European Commission-backed Gaia-X initiative. Gaia-X aims to maximize the societal benefits of the European data economy based on principles of openness, trust, and security. Gaia-X Hub Slovakia is a member of the Working Group on International Cooperation, Research Infrastructures, and EOSC under the Council for European Science Policy at the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Slovak Republic. Within the “Business at OECD” (BIAC) initiative, Martina Le Gall Maláková serves on three committees; notably, she acts as Vice-Chair of the Committee on Digital Economy Policy (CDEP) regarding SMEs, drawing on her background as an entrepreneur. She also represents BusinessEurope (BE) in the Stakeholder Cybersecurity Certification Group (SCCG), established by the European Commission and ENISA to develop certification schemes for digital technologies. Within BE, she is an active member of the Digital Committee and the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO). Martina Le Gall Maláková served on the Standing Committee on Ethics and Regulation of Artificial Intelligence in Slovakia (CERAI), established by MIRRI. She was a member of the EIT Manufacturing East advisory board, where she applied her expertise to advise on strategies for strengthening European industry—strategies rooted in innovation and collaboration among universities, businesses, and startups. In 2023, she served as an advisor to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy on the data economy, as well as to other organizations. In 2024, she was appointed to the UN’s IGF MAG.
