Researcher profile

Ing. Vilém Honysz is a doctoral student at the Faculty of Management of Comenius University in Bratislava, focusing on spatial planning. He received his engineering degree (Ing.) from the Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava, where he specialized in the relationship between the urban environment and its ecological functions. In his scientific research, he primarily focuses on the topic of urban biodiversity and the impact of commercial establishments on the sustainable development of settlements.

His professional focus includes environmental management, spatial planning, sustainable mobility and the design of public spaces. He actively combines theoretical knowledge with practice – he worked in a city spatial planning studio, worked as a data analyst in spatial planning for the state administration and is involved in the implementation of a cross-border project.

During his time at the STU academic community, he was an elected representative on the Council of Study Programs for the field of spatial planning. As a member of the Erasmus Student Network board, he has been actively involved in supporting international student mobility, having studied at leading German universities focused on spatial planning – TU Dortmund and RWTH Aachen. His approach to spatial planning is defined by the effort to preserve the spatial identity of cities while increasing their environmental resilience and social quality.
