
Fawzi Almalkale is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Management of the STU in Bratislava. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Mustansiriyah/Faculty of Administration and Economics/Department of Tourism and Hotel Management in Baghdad. His thesis focused on the relationship between independent variables (return on investment, return on equity, average asset turnover, turnover percentage, marginal profit, debt ratio, earnings per share) and the dependent variable (market share value). The topic of his dissertation is focused on the revitalization of old, distressed areas in Baghdad and the role of participatory planning in their development and preservation of their spatial identity in the light of sustainable development. The researcher chose the ancient Armenian quarters of Baghdad as a sample for the research. His other research scopes are environmental management, spatial planning and use of land, culture and identity, ethnic diversity and rights of minorities, sustainable development.
